Kayak Rental Program
It’s no wonder that recreational kayaking is one of the nation’s fastest growing sports among families today. Something magical happens when you launch a kayak and float on the surface of Grapevine Lake. The water is so near; you hardly can wait to glide along the lake with the double-bladed paddle. Besides exercise, Kayaking is the perfect sport for fishing, exploring inlet shorelines, or photographing wildlife in the lake and on the shoreline.
The Vineyards Campground offers kayak rentals to enrich the outdoor experiences of our guests. We offer the latest style ‘sit-on-top’ recreational kayaks that have larger cockpits for easy entry as well as a wider beam for greater stability on the water. The light-weight kayaks provide the perfect adventure for all ages when it comes to developing a life-long love for outdoor recreation.
Kayak rentals are made at the Main Entry Gate, and guests are required to follow the Kayak Rental Program Guidelines:
- Read and sign the Kayak Rental Program Waiver
- Inspect your kayak for any damages prior to taking it out onto the water.
- Ask any questions you might have regarding the use of or limits of the kayak use and/or area to use the kayaks.
- Always wear your PFD. Only take it off when you are securely back on land.
- Recommended kayaking area is within the No Wake area of the campground inlet
- Any passenger in a kayak must weigh at least 50 lbs. or be able to correctly fit into a PFD

- All rentals must be paid-in-full prior to release of the kayak. There are 10’- and 12’-kayaks available, which include one paddle per kayak, and one PFD per rental.
- Kayaks must be returned within the allotted time or guest will be charged for the next rental rate. Example: $20 for a 2-hour rental when kayak is returned on time; after 2.5-hours, charge will be an additional $15.
- Private lessons are available and must be booked one-week before your arrival.
